Due to security
concerns in Syria, the US Embassy and the US State Department have closed the
DCS campus for classes. The school moved to "Temporary Closure" January 22, 2012
and will remain closed until the Embassy opens the campus for classes. Students
and teachers will finish the school year using on line classes with Moodle - a
NESA approved virtual school program. Students will meet with available teachers
at various locations, using Skype, or Google chat. If more information is
required, please contact the Director at the email address below.
The main office will be open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 pm Sunday - Thursday.
Moodle
Students should have everything they need to continue their classes on Moodle. All classes that can be continued on Moodle will be. There are classes for which Moodle is not an option. Classes such as Physical Education, Computer Technology, Music, Arabic and Art, to name a few, may be impossible to continue on Moodle. Students need to check the Moodle page for each class to see if they will be able to continue on Moodle.
Mr. Brown will be checking to be sure that high school students who must complete a course will be able to do so through Moodle.
If you experience problems, contact the teacher immediately.
If you are unable to reach the teacher, contact Mr. Brian Smith at 333.7737 or by email at bsmith@dcssyria.org.
